Policies and Procedures
INITIAL CONTACT: If you are a new client and wish to contact Lil’ Buddies Pet Sitters, call (704) 779-7256 or submit an initial contact form on our Contact page and we will contact you promptly.
INITIAL VISIT: Before a pet sitting visit can take place, we will provide a complementary consultation visit. This allows us to meet you and your pet(s) and learn about their routines and special personalities. We will also use this time to explain Lil’ Buddies pet sitting policies, complete paperwork, obtain keys and answer any questions you may have. We will record current veterinary information and emergency contact information. In addition, we will also discuss payment options and preferences. We accept cash, check and credit cards. Payment must be rendered in full prior to start of services.
At this initial visit, we will collect two keys to your home. One key will be for the sitter’s use and the other will be kept at our office in a secured location. Upon completion of services, you may choose to pick your keys up at our office or we can mail them to you. Another option is to keep your keys on file at our office for your future pet sitting needs.
SCHEDULING: For the convenience of our clients we use Power Pet Sitter, an online professional scheduling tool that is very user-friendly. If you are a new client you will need to fill out a Power Pet Sitter profile. Upon submission of your profile, scheduling is facilitated through your Power Pet Sitter login on our Website. For visits scheduled during out-of-town stays, you will receive a confirmation call no later than two days prior to the first scheduled visit. We ask that we speak personally with you to ensure your pet is cared for.
Any changes to scheduled visits or cancellations may be made via your Power Pet Sitter login or through the office. Confirmation must be received from our office, ensuring that the changes have been implemented. In order to ensure the safety of your pet(s), notes or messages to the sitter are not allowed. Please note that the office must be notified of cancellations no later than 48 hours prior to scheduled services to avoid a $20.00 cancellation fee. For vacation visits, we require notice of cancellation two weeks prior to commencement of services to obtain a full refund. Cancellations made after the two weeks prior to scheduled visits will incur a $30.00 fee. There are no refunds for early return once service has commenced for the time period scheduled. For recurring visits, we request that you let the office know as soon as possible of a cancellation. Lack of confirmed cancellation will result in the sitter arriving for the visit, thus resulting in a charge for the visit.
IMMUNIZATIONS: All pets under the care of Lil’ Buddies Pet Sitters must be current on their immunizations. Please have this information available at the initial consultation.
EMERGENCY CONTACT: Contact information concerning emergency veterinary care will be secured prior to commencement of pet sitting. Lil’ Buddies also encourages you to provide the contact information for a person within walking distance to your home who has access to your home. In the event of severe weather conditions, wherein roads become impassible, this contact would be willing to check on your pet(s) if requested.
WHILE YOU’RE AWAY: At the completion of each visit, the sitter will leave a note confirming that the visit was completed and provide an update on your pet(s). If you prefer a text message, this can be arranged at time of scheduling.
Concerning fences, Lil’ Buddies does not accept responsibility or liability for any customer’s pets that escape, are injured or become lost, fatal or otherwise, when pets are left out or given access to a fenced in area. This includes electronic, wood, metal or any other fence type. When under the care of Lil’ Buddies pet sitter, all dogs will be on a leash for any outside walks, with no exceptions.
UPON YOUR RETURN: For those visits requiring overnight care, we require that you notify us by phone, text or email that you have returned home. If we do not receive this confirmation we will attempt to phone you. Failure to reach you will result in continuation of routine care, billed at the normal rate.
